When I was little, I always dreamed of having a doll cake for my birthday. Well those days are long gone, so I always feel nostalgic when someone requests one for their special girl.

Pink or Blue...
Backyardigan birthday
Spongebob Birthday cake
I admit I'm not a fan of Spongebob, but I couldn't resist putting this together for a young ladie's birthday party. I was tough only because I did this on New Year's day, after a loooonnngg night- but it still worked out ok. Spongebob is done in melted chocolate, and the cake is iced in vanila buttercream.
Precious Moments Baby Shower cake
This is another baby shower cake for a sweet co-worker of mine. This time I tried a different kind of icing, Swiss Meringue buttercream. Its made mostly with egg whites and sugar..It's a little time consuming and tricky, but the end results are to die for! Surprisingly it has a light sweet taste, almost like ice cream. The image of the baby is also traced and colord in different shades of melted chocolate.
Surprise Baby Shower cake
Barbie Princess cake
This is for a little girl who always wished to have a barbie doll birthday cake. This was simple vanilla cake with vanilla cream filling. I wrapped the barbie doll tightly in saran wrap, and stuck her through the middle. Funny when we were cutting the cake, a kid saw the doll's body in it, and said "why is she naked under there!" Ahhh kids, gotta love 'em!

I made this for the bridal shower of a very good friend of mine. I always wanted to try this style and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. It turned out pretty good, and tasted better! Its covered all in fondant, and has fondant details too. Oh, and guess what flavor... You got it, White cake with vanilla buttercream filling !

Allow me to introduce myself
Hello there, welcome to my little slice of cake heaven. My name is Ingrid and I just love cakes, as you can tell. I fell into this hobby by pure chance, on a flight back home from New York. I happened to come across a wedding cake challenge on the Food Network that facinated me. A cake course or two later, I started making cakes for co-workers, family and friends. After much encouragement and support, the rest the say is history! I've put together this blog to give everyone a chance to view my creations, and tempt you all a little more. Enjoy
