Little Diva Baby Shower cake

I made this cake for my friend's baby shower. She approached me with the idea of doing yellow pound cake with cheesecake filling. I had recently done a cake exactly the same, so it was a coincidence the cakes were requested only days apart. I had never heard of this combination until now, so it was a challenge for me, but I pulled through with no problem. This cake was covered in fondant. The crown is embellished with silver dragees, and a plastic jewel.

Dora the Explorer Birthday Cake

I made this cake for my daughter's 2nd birthday. She loves Dora the explorer, and was absolutely thrilled when we brought it out. The cake is is pineapple coconut, covered in cream cheese icing and homemade marshmallow fondant. I also made vanilla and chocolate cupcakes as well. Sometimes young kids don't always like coconut, but you can never go wrong with traditional flavors!

For the Love of Science

This is a cake commissioned by a good friend of mine who wanted to surprise her fiance with a birthday cake. He is a science buff so she wanted to make sure there was reference to it. I made the character out of fondant following several tutorials compliments of Youtube! The flavour is golden yellow cake, and the filling was cheesecake along with a generous amount of cherry pie filling. It was covered in cream cheese buttercream icing and homemade marshmallow fondant. This ended up being massive, but hey- you can never have too much cake !
