Doll cake

When I was little, I always dreamed of having a doll cake for my birthday. Well those days are long gone, so I always feel nostalgic when someone requests one for their special girl.

Disney Barbie Princesses

Another princess inspired cake design..Melted chocolate image, white cake with vanilla icing

Naruto

My Godson loves Naruto, so I came up with this design for his birthday. I used a projector to transfer the image on the cake, traced it and then colored the whole cake with individual piped stars. He absoloutly loved it, he says his Auntie makes cool cakes!

Inspired by luscious LL Cool J

A cake for a big fan of LL Cool J- Red Velvet cake with cream cheese buttercream icing. His picture was done with various shades of melted chocolate.mmmm good!

23rd Birthday cake

This is a cake for a friend at work. She was turning 23, and wanted a mature b-day cake, so this is what I came up with. Fudge stripe cake (chocolate with a layer of cream cheese) with chocolate ganache (melted chocolate and whip cream) filling

Pink or Blue...

A cake for an office baby shower. This was a marble cake with vanilla buttercream icing. Images done in melted chocolate. The basketweave design was no joke, but practice makes perfect. I really enjoyed this design

Backyardigan birthday

The mom of a Backyardigan fan wanted to surprise him with his favorite charachter, Pablo. This is double chocolate cake, the icing is buttercream. The charachter was designed completely in fondant.

Spongebob Birthday cake

I admit I'm not a fan of Spongebob, but I couldn't resist putting this together for a young ladie's birthday party. I was tough only because I did this on New Year's day, after a loooonnngg night- but it still worked out ok. Spongebob is done in melted chocolate, and the cake is iced in vanila buttercream.

Precious Moments Baby Shower cake

This is another baby shower cake for a sweet co-worker of mine. This time I tried a different kind of icing, Swiss Meringue buttercream. Its made mostly with egg whites and sugar..It's a little time consuming and tricky, but the end results are to die for! Surprisingly it has a light sweet taste, almost like ice cream. The image of the baby is also traced and colord in different shades of melted chocolate.

Surprise Baby Shower cake

A surprise baby shower cake. The baby was actually traced and colored in chocolate. The Mom to be said it was just as chocolatey as the baby she was expecting! Its iced in buttercream icing, and has fondat accents.

Barbie Princess cake

This is for a little girl who always wished to have a barbie doll birthday cake. This was simple vanilla cake with vanilla cream filling. I wrapped the barbie doll tightly in saran wrap, and stuck her through the middle. Funny when we were cutting the cake, a kid saw the doll's body in it, and said "why is she naked under there!" Ahhh kids, gotta love 'em!

Myrtle birthday cake design

A cake I did for a surprise party for a friend from work. I couldn't attend, but I sent this for her instead. She loves Hallmark's Myrtle character alot, and she's just as funny. She really loved it, and said she was pretty impressed!

Mehndi cake

A Mehndi inspired cake I did for a friend who is a bellydancer. She was having an open-house at her studio, so I decided to make something special for her. It's lemon cake with lemon cream filling. The whole cake is designed and iced in Lemon Buttercream.

50th Anniversary cake

This is another Anniversary cake, this time its for the parents of a friend. The design is a replica of the stationary her Dad used when he proposed to her Mom! I did that in fondant, and the cake is covered in fondant too. White cake, and vanilla buttercream icing underneath.

Designer Purse Cake

I made this for the bridal shower of a very good friend of mine. I always wanted to try this style and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. It turned out pretty good, and tasted better! Its covered all in fondant, and has fondant details too. Oh, and guess what flavor... You got it, White cake with vanilla buttercream filling !

Double Heart Anniversary cake

Anniversary cake made for a first anniversary. White cake, with vanilla icing- I told you this is a popular flavor!

Daisy cake for a little princess

This cake was for the baby daughter of a friend of mine. White cake, with vanilla buttercream icing - yummm it may sound generic but trust me this flavor is to die for! I make it all the time, and I never get tired of it- much to my waistline's dismay!

Basketball jersey cake

This is a White cake, with vanilla buttercream icing. A cake I did for a good friend of mine. Very challnging considering the power cut out midway, so icing was melting everywhere!

Allow me to introduce myself

Hello there, welcome to my little slice of cake heaven. My name is Ingrid and I just love cakes, as you can tell. I fell into this hobby by pure chance, on a flight back home from New York. I happened to come across a wedding cake challenge on the Food Network that facinated me. A cake course or two later, I started making cakes for co-workers, family and friends. After much encouragement and support, the rest the say is history! I've put together this blog to give everyone a chance to view my creations, and tempt you all a little more. Enjoy
